Key Features of the Axopar 29 CCX

The Axopar 29 CCX, or Center Console Crossover, builds on the success of the Axopar 29 range, offering more for those looking to enjoy both fishing and recreational boating. The vessel incorporates some new design elements while maintaining the features that make the Axopar 29 a standout model. Here’s what sets the CCX apart…

Configurable Seating and Fishing-Friendly Options

At the heart of the boat is a highly configurable aft layouts with may of the options we already know and love from the other Axopar 29 models with new options specific to the fishing market..

As standard four forward-facing seats, offer seating for up to six passengers.

An aft cabin/ sunbed can be optioned behind these seats or a bench seat.

Or a wetbar, a popular feature for those who enjoy both fishing and leisure.

The U-shaped seating can double as a sun lounge with infill cushions, creating a comfortable space for socializing or relaxation

A fish station with a bait prep area can be configured behind the bow seats and a leaning station with integrated rod holders.

This flexibility ensures the CCX can cater to various needs, whether it’s a family day out or a serious fishing trip.

Elevated Design and Practical Enhancements

One of the standout features is the raised grab rail, moulded directly into the gel coat of the boat’s side, giving it a sleek and integrated look. The boat’s higher rail (5 cm above the standard Axopar 29) offers improved safety and ease when fishing or moving about the vessel. Around the deck, you’ll find strategically placed bolsters to provide comfort when leaning in to fight a fish.

The Cross Top roof is equipped with countless fishing rod holders and floodlights for fishing at night, and there’s also an optional sunshade for those hotter days. For longer excursions, storage compartments are designed with convenience in mind. The optional fish box beneath the bow seating keeps your catch fresh until you return to shore.

Performance on the Water

Joe Fox’s sea trial provided valuable insight into how the Axopar 29 CCX handles in various conditions. Here are his impressions from behind the wheel:

Exceptional Helm Station Comfort

Joe describes the helm station as a game changer, providing wraparound protection akin to what you’d expect from a cabin boat. “I feel very protected in here…like I’m in the vessel when looking forward but on a vessel when looking back.” This combination of open-air freedom and protection from the elements is one of the most appealing aspects of the CCX, especially for those who enjoy longer days offshore.

The panoramic views from the helm give the captain complete visibility without blind spots, while features like a footrest, Simrad plotters, and integrated speakers further enhance the driving experience.

Impressive Offshore Capabilities

Equipped with a 400hp outboard engine, the Axopar 29 CCX offers exhilarating performance. The raised rail and deck allow for a higher fuel capacity, boasting 600 litres, which is double what the previous Axopar 28 could carry. This increase in fuel capacity dramatically improves the boat’s range, making it ideal for longer offshore fishing trips.

As Joe pointed out, “If it was wet, if it was raining, or if there was spray, there’d be no problem taking this a long distance offshore to find the best fish.” Despite the powerful engine and high-speed capabilities, the CCX remains remarkably sheltered, providing a smooth and dry ride even at full speed.

A True Crossover

The Axopar 29 CCX lives up to its name as a crossover vessel. With the open-air feel of a T-Top model and the protective comfort of a cabin boat, it appeals to a wide range of boaters, from families looking for a day out to serious anglers in search of their next big catch. As Joe concluded, “This vessel is going to hit a real sweet spot.”

The Axopar 29 CCX is the latest evolution of the Axopar range, combining the best of both worlds: performance and versatility.
