Blown Away by Performance

“First time I’ve been on board the 45,” Mark Rothfield shared, “I’ve obviously tested the smaller Axopar models, and I was blown away—literally and honestly—by how it performed. A 45-footer being able to do what it did was just amazing. We were going 46 knots in the chop on Sydney Harbour, and it was just riding across like it was nothing. There was no way you felt like you were doing that sort of speed. It really turned beautifully too, with the handling through corners being exceptional. It just tracked perfectly; it wasn’t violent. It held its speed while doing everything right.

They’ve done an awesome job with the whole design. I love the fact that in the middle of winter, we’re out boating, and it’s got this beautiful cocoon feel. You can open it up in summer as well. For an all-year-round boat, it was just fantastic. The layout and small details, like the automotive feel of the steering wheel with buttons right where you need them for the stereo, trim, and other key functions, really impressed me. They’ve thought of the small stuff and got the big stuff right as well. So yeah, really impressed.” – Mark Rothfield, Club Marine

Quiet and Soft Ride

“I’ve been on a lot of boats of this size,” Tim Davies enthused, “but the way it handles and corners is amazing. What I’m blown away by is the quietness and the softness of the ride. We had quite a bit of roll out there with some big waves—over a meter and a half—and yet there was no water on the windscreen. It’s unheard of in a boat like this at that speed. Well done, Axopar. It’s an incredible effort to engineer a boat like this and produce that performance.”Tim Davies, Club Marine

Sports Car on Water

The Powerboat Magazine team were also onboard, Doug Dukeson exclaimed, “I was most impressed with the performance and size of the boat. It’s a 45-footer performing like a sports boat. Very impressed.” Holly added, “I absolutely loved it. It went very fast and felt incredibly smooth. We love it. Absolutely beautiful.” While Carla who has the 45 saved as her screensaver summarised, “Amazing. Couldn’t believe the knots we were doing and the way the boat just chopped through the water. Incredible.”

Solid and Planted

“Really interesting. What I wasn’t expecting was the ride to be so soft, especially going around corners,” Nicky Vaux explained, “The way Hayden was throwing this boat around out in the harbor—if it had been another boat, we would have all had a little bit of a heart attack because it was really tight corners, really throwing it around with some decent chop out there. But this felt so solid, so planted, so level, even though you’re going around a corner. Really interesting ride. Loved it.”Nicky Vaux, The Boat Princess

A Thrilling Adventure

“I’m loving this! She’s a beauty. It was an amazing experience and very much an adventure. It was tremendous. I’m a bit of a speed nut, so I love anything like this. The design, the experience, the pure thrilling joy—I really loved it. Can we go again?”Kim Granland
